    Duck Race Spring 2015

    Duck Race 2015

One of the pillars of Sigma Alpha is Service. Participating in philanthropy events allows our members to positively contribute to our community. The Gamma Chapter not only raises money to support our sponsored philanthropy, we also host events to educate the community on our charities.

Every year the Gamma Chapter hosts our annual Duck Race in the spring. This year we will be hosting our very first 5K as participants run, walk, or waddle their way around Michigan States beautiful campus.Winners of the race will recive gifts that were graciously donated by our sponsers  The profits from this race will go to our endoment fund with the Michigan 4-H Foundation.

Along with Duck Race, the Gamma Chapter also participates in our national service project  Ag in the Classroom which is a grassroots program coordinated by the United States Department of Agriculture. Its goal is to help students gain a greater awareness of the role of agriculture. We have now started a new tradition; every fall we Trick-Or-Treat for canned goods and donate our collections to a local food shelter.
